Warm Yin, Tuesdays, 7 pm. Yin is both a gentle and encompassing yoga practice that is designed to literally open the body, peeling away layers of tension, stress and injury that reside within. A gentle approach is used to stretch the body, using longer holds to get beyond the muscle tissue into the connective tissue, the fascia of the body. All poses are seated or reclined. The slower nature of this practice is often described as a “moving meditation”. A great compliment to your regular practice. Suitable for all levels.
ManYoga is underway as well! ManYoga is just that, gentle basic yoga with a focus on easing stiff muscles, enhancing flexibility and relaxation. Mondays from 8:30-9:30 pm.
Teaching Yoga to Kids: Hazelton Training, Nov. 25 & 26. A one-of-a-kind way of teaching yoga to children. The program blends traditional yoga and its benefits with theories of multiple learning styles in a comprehensive, imaginative, and playful approach to education. Attendees will experience 3 full days of life-changing love and laughter, led by one of our experienced trainers. They combine yoga with reading, writing, science, art, music, games, ecology, philosophy and much more — and thus, create a matrix for learning that’s accessible to all children. Some poses are based on traditional yoga asanas. In addition, attendees will learn successful strategies for lesson planning and will have the opportunity to team-teach a class to children. Other topics covered during the workshop include the different developmental stages of children, inclusive teaching, and guidelines for teaching a successful kids yoga class.
