Northern Sky Meditation & Yoga Retreats
This year we held a day-long retreat at Telkwa Riverside Studio in February, a four-day spring retreat at Hudson Bay Wilderness Ranch over the May long weekend, and have just wrapped up the annual five-day silent retreat behind Hudson Bay Mountain.
So far, the dates we have for upcoming retreats are the May long weekend 2018, as well as Labour Day weekend at the end of August, both up at the off-the-grid, rustic wilderness ranch.
Please watch this site for retreat dates this fall.

Recharge – return to your life with clarity and energy….
Everyday life tends to disperse us, scatter our energy: During the Northern Sky Meditation & Yoga Retreat we bring together a small group of people to experience deep quiet and a beautiful setting.
These weekends are a time for gathering. They are held in silence, with guided meditation and yoga sessions, delicious vegetarian meals, and time for solitude.
Our skilled instructors lead you through time-tested practices that allow your body, spirit and mind to transform. “The quieter you become the more you can hear”
Day 1: Arrive to settle in by 5:30 pm. (We arrange a car pool from Smithers Art Gallery at 4:30 pm.) We’ll join for dinner at 6:30 pm. Opening circle is at 7:30, then we go into silence.
Following Days: 7 am opening yoga, 8:30 am breakfast. 10 am meditation. 12:30 lunch. 2 pm solitude time. 4 pm Yoga. 6 pm dinner. 7:30 evening meditation.
Final Day: 7 am opening yoga. 8:30 am light breakfast. 10 am home.
This retreat takes place at Hudson Bay Mountain Wilderness Ranch, a spectacular setting on the west flank of the mountain. Accommodation is shared – cabins (2 to 3 people per room) – or you can bring your own tent or trailer to camp outside. All vegetarian meals are provided.
• YOUTH: Young people (16+) who are able & interested to participate (sitting, silence, sustained meditative awareness) are welcome to join our retreats.
Participation and Organization
Our philosophy for this retreat is that it is community-based and participatory. We all share in the creation of an intentional event. This means everyone helps, either with pre-cooking meals, or at the retreat with meal prep / clean-up and other needs.
Please note that the work is light. It involves one shift per day and does not interfere with the programs.
What to bring
Bring clothes for yoga, inside sitting meditation, outside jackets and boots for hiking / snow / rain / sun… it all depends on the weather! Sleeping arrangements inside are shared rooms, mattresses are provided. Bring your own bedding, toiletries, and towels. You are welcome to bring any journaling material, art supplies, relevant books. Please leave pets, perfumes, electronics, and portable media at home.
This is a rustic, rural retreat in a mountain environment. There are long walks between the cabins and meditation and dinner halls. Please be prepared for a whole range of weather!
We arrange a car pool from Smithers that leaves from Smithers Art Gallery at the corner of Main Street and the highway at 4:30 pm. If you are driving, please contact us directly about directions. You will need a four-wheel drive vehicle. It takes about 40 minutes to drive from Smithers.
